Episode 41 – Passing it Down

Similar to our nostalgia episode, but more like a flip side of the coin.

In this episode, the guys don’t talk about things that were childhood memories that turned out to be truly horrible when viewed as adults, but instead focus on the things they love and adore. They are the things that have reached timeless excellence, and must be shared with future generations. Plus – there’s a reference to Cowboys of Moo Mesa . . . so yeah.

Episode 40 – Sleep Deprivation and Other Acts of Creativity

This one . . . well, this one is odd. There’s a bit of a slow down in the world of geek news, so the boys find themselves at a loss for what to talk about. This leads to a random assortment of thoughts ranging from the building of a real life death star, to creating stories, all the way to scientific exploration.

Episode 37 – There’s a lot more . . .

Today the guys look at electronics, writing books, about going deeper into the meaning of Scripture, and maybe tack on a little extra time at the end to giggle that Mike has XCOM now.

Episode 36 – Nostalgia Time: Come on, Grab Your Friends

Once again, the podcast rolls ever onward as Luke and the family Navarro are traveling hither and yon for Thanksgiving. This week, Mike asks his buddy Chris to step in one more time as the boys talk about Thanksgiving traditions, old cartoons and the nostalgia they invoke, and how the church needs to stop clinging to old days and old ways that aren’t connecting with the people in their communities and start looking to Christ.

Episode 35 – Getting in the Game: how the Church can be the Church

In this episode – Luke takes the family off to new living arrangements, leading Mike to recruit his friend Chris and his wife Susan to give a new perspective on the guys’ position regarding tabletop role playing games, growing up as pastor’s kids in a geek world, and the promise of a new Star Wars movie as Disney takes the helm at Lucasfilm.

Episode 34 – Ghouls, Goblins, and — Aliens?

Mike here, posting episode 34 a day early in light of the imminent arrival of Hurricane (at least I think she’s a hurricane now) Sandy.

In this episode – the guys talk about the nature of Halloween from the perspective of the Christian, the new XCOM: Enemy Unknown game, and whether the church might be following a trend towards playing the Christina life on “easy mode.”

Episode 33 – With Great Power comes Great Responsibility

In this episode we welcome back cohost Luke Navarro.  Having conquered his computer gremlins, Luke is back to talk about his harrowing adventures in the lands of Technology.  The guys also talk about harnessing your geeky passions to create a positive impact for the Kingdom in the lives of people around you.
